What is Injera?

Injera is a soft flat bread made from grain called Teff (which is indigenous to Ethiopia), millet flour, barley flour and corn flour. A staple food, it is served with all kinds of dishes on any occasion and eaten with the fingers. It is usually served cold.

Ethiopian Nibit Te’j (Honey Wine)

Long ago in a place far away, prehistoric Mesopotamia is a likely suspect, some hunter / gatherer stuck his hand in a tree hollow on his annual honey collecting rounds. But during this particular year, rain water had flooded the beehive inside the tree and mixed with the honey. Then, wind-borne wild yeasts had done their part to ferment the concoction.

The hunter / gatherer tasted what was in his hand, liked the sweet substance and licked it again…and again…and again…until the buzz he sensed wasn’t coming from whatever bees might have been hanging around.

Thus the honey wine called Te’j was discovered.

Creation Fridays /// Reggae @ Mesob

Every other Friday night come out for a night of reggae music presented by Lion-I Sound. Selector Junior Lee and guests run through old classics to new hits. Music starts at 10pm and food is served until 1:30am. This is a free event and there is no dress code. Come as you are! Guests must be 21 or older to enter the bar area but families are welcome to come and enjoy from the front room.
